Cool nights…

Oi! At last my apartment is starting to cool down. The temperature dropped below 25C this afternoon after a day of clouds and rain. I guess the lack of blazing sun on my window all day may have aided in that. I don’t care what it was, I’m just glad I can breathe here again!

Crazy Vancouver freaky nuts…

Ok, so I was out and about on Saturday. I won’t explain the complexities of why, but the short of it is that I was a ways inland in Coquitlam doing a car wash for one of our affiliated chapter’s fundraisers.

Yeah… so that went well, and nothing to report beyond the sudden excess of human contact was nice for a change.

It was on our way back into the city that we encountered a funny slash crazy slash scary situation:

Chalk it up to a moron with problems only beginning with low self-esteem and you have a pretty good idea of the jerk we pulled up beside at an intersection…. maybe he was having a bad day, but he decided to believe that that I and the people who I was riding with were laughing at him. (We had noticed his dirty truck — seeing as how we had just left a car wash and all — but beyond that, well I have better things to laugh at.)

He said a few things, and made a few gestures, but fortunately that light changed and if I ever see him again it will be too soon, I’m sure.

Oh well, another reason to lock the doors at night I guess.

Theo springs forth…

So, on an uplifting note, the one you’d probably thought I had forgotten about has in fact been lurking quietly in the backdrop. That’s right, Theo has being doing reasonably well, despite the heat which I don’t think he was too fond of either. And in fact, well, lets just say he’s gone into a growth spurt: a new leaf emerges!

Ok, so I have a thrilling life, but…

Swinging in the rain

Already having mentioned the rain, I’ll bring it up again to embellish on how I first encountered this little shower spell. It really isn’t that interesting, but I have nothing better to write about, unless you want to hear extensive details about work.

So I was out running. I have decided that there is a nice little window of opportunity just as the sun sets around nine-thirty-ish, when it is dark enough to be cool and light enough to be safe, when I can do my laps around the neighborhood.

Usually the weather has been cooperating. You know — no surprises.

Though, last night, half way through and a good ten minutes from the shelter of my apartment, the skies decided to open up and leave me to trot through the streets of Vancouver in the rain.

Like I said, you sorta had to be there.

But alas, my life might be a bit more interesting over the next few days: check out the hotel I’ll be at next weekend: Laurel Point Inn
