things of note
Every so often I just have a lot of things that won’t otherwise fill up a whole bunch of space:
1:: Today is hospital day, in which Karin goes — again — to the hospital and undergoes some odd procedure to remove the aforementioned kidney stone.
2:: As a consequence of number one, I have another unexpected day off. Ummm, haircut perhaps?
3:: My obsessive tracking of my new laptop computer, still in shipment, has noted that it arrived at the local terminal sometime yesterday evening. That theoretically could mean it’s going out for delivery today!
4:: My (now publically noted) arch-nemesis, Jess, has seemingly spent considerable time and effort increasing the visual layout of her blog. You should visit her. She often has more interesting things to say than me — even if they are occasionally obscure.
5:: My job has netted me a semi-promotion, effective two days ago. It, unfortunately, has little-to-no direct effect on my salary, but does traslate in to something I like to call fluid spacial management, or the art of eventually working exactly where I want to work. Hmmm… cryptic, aren’t I?
6:: I waxed through the last few chapters of Return of the King last night, and (because I obviously had forgotten how it ended) was pleasantly surprised. I can now watch the final movie in peace.
7:: If Karin is up to it (post surgery) we’re planning a trip to the Surrey Drive-In this weekend. We had been talking about it all summer but now we find out that not only is it closing for the season as of this weekend, but it is more than likely closing permanently. Terminator 3, anyone?
