Year Two, Go.
I guess that means my warantee is up. Karin and I celebrated yesterday by ordering pizza and falling asleep in front of the television. That memorable date June 8, 2005 is when we took possession of our house and spent the day moving junk across the city. It was raining then, too, if I recall correctly. I was protesting my blog for a few weeks at that point so I have no reference material to back up my claims. You’ll just need to trust me on this one. We ordered pizza for all the helpers and feasted in the new kitchen, boxes splayed around the floor and everywhere. Poor delivery guy didn’t even have a sidewalk at that point — let alone house numbers or probably any experience with the brand new neighborhood. They’ve come to visit us lots since, though.
Perhaps a new tradition: June 8 is pizza day?
We ate in front of the TV and watched the first of our rented DVDs. Earlier this week I signed up for one of those online movie rental-by-mail services (www.canflix.com — if you’re interested I’ll send you a referal code!) and the first round arrived via Canada Post sometime yesterday. Appropriately, we watched National Lampoon’s European Vacation, somewhat the motivator behind the sign-up because it’s easier to rent crap movies when they are part of a service compared to one-at-a-time losers for 5 bucks a pop. And, having just returned from Europe, we needed something mildly relatable. Doubtful.
