i’m blogging this.

Karin laughed at me about the whole Runnin’ to Vancouver thing. So I went and added another two clicks to my total. True, it’s not too far, yet. But it’s early, and for those keeping track: 9 km puts me running just out the front door, down to the Anthony Henday, and North West up to just shy of the Whitemud.

I’ll talk less about this as the days wear on. Honest. After that I’ll just mark major milestones. Hitting towns, cities, borders, landmarks, etc.

On the more interesting side of things — and only because I was wearing my “I’m Blogging This.” t-shirt (and because I think Steve Page was squinting to see if he could read it from the stage at one point) we went to the Barenaked Ladies Concert last night at Rexall Place. (Including the Oilers Game with Matt last week, that makes TWICE in Rexall in the span of one week.) Honestly, I was a little worried that they’d play a set heavy on their new stuff. It’s a good album, but we’ve only been listening to it for a few months — so, y’know — it doesn’t have that same timeless, youthful impact the rest of their catalog holds at this point. Yet. They didn’t. A few highlights of the new, and plenty o’classics to round out the set. Excellent. Brett ‘n Lenore (ie. BNL) scored tickets as well, and by a weird coincidence were in relative close proximity to where we sat — ninth row on the floor, by the way! And all in all a great concert.

I know. Not exactly the most riveting review. Too bad. Here are some high points to make up for that:

  • = Numerous Battlestar Galactica References
  • = Numa Numa to open the show!
  • = An improvised song about the Alberta Pork Zamboni. Really.

Pause. Refocus. Get back to work. *sigh*
