The First Few Months
Things are starting to settle into routine. What does that mean for the new family? It’s time for PHOTOS! Hurrah! Huhzah! Click! Snap! Woosh!
Over the coming couple of months — rather than scatter hundreds (as there are likely to be) random mug shots of the Claire Bear into numerous galleries and albums — I’ll be grouping them into some broad categories in my gallery, and only in my gallery. It will be like this: For example, the first two albums were the “Welcome to Earth, Claire!” sub-album covering the first day or so, and then the “Papa on Pat Leave” sub-album chronicling my two weeks of vacation adjusting to fatherhood. The first BIG anthology is going to be that linked to by the image below. (I’ll occasionally let you know of updates, but the onus will (mostly) be on you to check back for new photos. I’ll be adding as regularly as I can.)
What will you find here? Claire, of course. Claire, as her crazy, artsy-fartsy father attempts to capture those moments as mundane as lying on the floor or cuddled up with mom. Or moments as exciting as meeting new friends and family. It will all be there. I was originally posting to Facebook — but I’m going to take a step back from that to focus on the blog, the gallery, and the rest of my a-social network.
Some quick answers to what you won’t see: There will be no baby blog. There will be no Facebook account. There will be no baby email address. Kudos to those who have done that — I just don’t have the time. But there will be photos! Lots and lots of photos. (At least until her mother teaches her how to object to the papa-ratzi.)
BY THE WAY: My dad won the baby pool and donated his winnings to Claire’s education fund. No one was exactly right, but we used the “Price is Right” rules: closest without going over.

She has changed so much in the past two weeks! Her proud auntie Shannon is eager to see her again soon. Oh, and by the way, the guest room is now tomatoe free, so whenever you are ready to take her on the road trip to Calgary, we are ready for you!
You’re telling me. I can’t believe how much she has grown. I was in Calgary for a busy 24 hours last week and she’d changed while I was away.
