For the entire month of June I’m planning on writing a series of blog-a-day posts based on a set series of open-ended questions to myself. This is one of those posts.
June 5th // Something You Have Eaten
We’ve been on a quest for a good popcorn maker for years.
Well, maybe “quest” is too strong of a word. It’s more like this: we’ve had mixed results with the small variety of popcorn popping techniques we’ve attempted in the last few years, and being that we enjoy popcorn quite thoroughly at our house, we’ve been rather sloppy about improving the situation. Karin isn’t a fan of microwave popcorn, and the air popper I bought a few years ago (back before such things were in style again) blows in more way than one.
A few weeks ago we cashed in some frequent traveler miles, acquired due to the abundance of winter air travel, and ordered a Cuisinart oil-popper. It arrived on Friday via the courier just before I got home from work, Claire rushing to the door as I myself arrived home, to fill me in on the good news. You’d have thought Santa arrived early, the way she reacted.
Of course, guess what we’ve been eating all weekend. One guess. No go ahead: guess. Yeah, that’s right. Popcorn.
