CIRA Campaigning: Part Four
The CIRA Board of Directors campaign is now well into the Show of Support phase. I thought I would continue to share my “platform” on my blog in the hopes that you click on over and support me for a director position.

Please describe your understanding of the role of a Director on CIRA’s Board.
As a member of any board, participation is optimal when any one member not only arrives at meetings well-prepared, having considered any and all issues at hand through their own lens of experience and perspective, but also when members engage in meaningful and respectful discussion about those issues in hopes of reaching resolution or compromise for the same. I assume as with any board, the CIRA Board often finds itself debating issues that have a far reaching impacts for all business, public and private alike, and that resolution or compromise is something that is only found through hard work and extensive sharing of opinion. In this way, I would think that a Director on CIRA’s Board may find him or herself often taking positions of policy or economics that require thoughtful deference, rational consideration, and always patient negotiation. But through this democratically inclined system, ultimately a member of any balanced and functioning Board would be lucky and privileged to contribute to decisions that better the organization and its services to its clients.
