Are you celebrating yourself some Halloweens this weekend? With the big day actually falling on a weeknight, it’s usually the weekend before when all the good parties happen. Us? We’ll be spending Saturday evening in costume at Fort Edmonton Park for the 2013 Spooktacular [ http://www.fortedmontonpark.ca/events/spooktacular/ ] “The Park will be transformed into a Halloween land of ghosts, goblins and ghouls.” I’ve got some zombie gear to try out and Claire has an awesome vampire outfit to run through a scare test. We’ve never been before, but I hear it’s another great Edmonton event worthy of checking out. Can’t wait, and I’m sure I’ll have some photos to follow up on Sunday.
I’ll take the risk of buzz-marketing a silly little game I’ve had running in my browser for about a week now: Cooke Clicker. If nothing else I’ll give it a nickle-worth of free publicity because it’s provided me with at least that much worth of amusement. Premise: make cookies. And then spend cookies to automate your cookie making process. The game starts with by manually clicking a few dozen cookies with your mouse until you’ve created a process that lets you sit back and reap the rewards, buy more tools, and watch your cookie count exponentially rise. My best so far is in the tens of trillions of cookies. And I’m sure I’m just getting started.

On the short flight from Edmonton to Grand Prairie, other than the delay, the trip was fairly typical and mundane, at least as far as forty-five minute regional puddle-jumps go.
