She was really sick. Crashingly sick. Tossing, resting, not eating, and tossing some more. Not fun, no matter how you look at it.

Eventually I relented, crawled out of bed, showered, and kicked yet another edition of Daddy Day into full gear.

Does it really matter if we do something epic or if we just hang out? Does it matter if we swim or shop or eat burgers? What’s the difference? It’s just about the time spent right?

…last week when I had a post-holiday Friday-day-off she was still on the lamb from classes and eager for another installment of our Daddy Days. Who was I to disappoint?

I was too busy driving around the snow-covered streets, navigating rutted roads, and cursing at the audacity of my fellow drivers as they demonstrated their poor winter driving abilities…

…at shortly after six in the morning we were basking in the glow of our touch screens and playing a daddy-daughter game of Minecraft while still hunkered down under the cozy covers.

And we watched, cuddled on the couch, as a awesomely brave guy broke the speed of sound hitting Mach 1.24 with nothing to protect him but a pressure suit.

I suggest all too often that the inevitable end of our precious father-daughter daddy days are nigh, and just as often I seem to be eating those words and writing yet another post celebrating that they are back, slightly reformatted, and better than ever.

We’ve been digging on many foods, fresh, new and sometimes just comfortably familiar. See, there is something nice about the end of summer after all…
