There is something about history books that makes so many people cringe. The interesting thing is that this reputation just used-to-be true. There are a whole lot of really good history books out there. For example, Karin bought me a book on mathematical history, a (literally) rivetting read on the story behind trying to solve Fermats Last Theorem. Sounds dry, but anyone with any (even vague) interest in science would read it like the latest legal drama from whats-his-name.
